Eithne Brannigan

Eithne Brannigan first connected with WakeUpéiRe in the summer of 2022 during our early information drops outside St Stephen’s Green in Dublin, where she courageously spoke in public about the life-changing injury she suffered following the AstraZeneca injection. Having already given an impromptu public interview prior to that day, Eithne became the first Irish woman to step forward in a truly public way and put a human face to the reality of the injection-injured.

Since then, she has continued to speak with honesty and determination, giving numerous interviews and addressing our 2023 Vigil for the Injured and Bereaved outside Leinster House — one of the very few public actions of its kind in Ireland.

Eithne has been a consistent and outspoken advocate for those whose voices remain excluded from mainstream discussion, and she has never been motivated by popularity or approval. Instead, she has chosen to stand firmly for truth, regularly challenging the ongoing gaslighting experienced by the injured at the hands of the medical system.

Before her injury, Eithne lived an exceptionally active life, at the age of 61 she was training to take part in mini-marathons— a powerful reminder of what she any many others have lost, and what they continue to endure. She has also been a sincere supporter of our work, never hesitant to encourage us or to point out where we could do better, always in the spirit of reaching people more effectively.
