On December 1, 2023, activists from WakeUpéiRe gathered at the Garden of Remembrance to participate in a march to Baggot Street, the location of the Ministry of Health Offices.
The march aimed to express opposition to current health policies and underscore the need for reforms in the healthcare system. The event sought to unite the community in sending a strong signal to decision-makers that there is a need for change and improvement in healthcare conditions. The march from the Garden of Remembrance to the Office of the Minister for Health became a demonstration of society’s determination to pursue a healthier future and advocate for transparency and participation in the decision-making process concerning public health. The alleged COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll with an excess of deaths.
