Deirdre’s own words
I recognised that in-person informing was the most important thing to do in this information war. I knew that WakeUpéiRe were the ones doing the right thing and doing it in the right way. I didn’t stand in the street and take flak like they did, but I said I would serve them from a keyboard and hidden standpoint. There were dark times, when so many so-called rebels abandoned the injection genocide truths, but WakeUpéiRe stuck with the awfulness of it all. They had a sense of duty. I met them in Dublin, I listened to great dignity and care from ordinary people, I felt this was the Ireland I knew and loved. I walked past the GPO with them, and I nodded over to the spirit of Pádraic Pearse, and the Cú Chulainn statue in the window, and I thought if that guy was around today he would be with this crowd.
