May 2026 WakeUpéiRe travelled to Ballina, Co. Mayo, to join forces with our long-serving local volunteers, who have been consistently distributing information leaflets throughout the town for the past three years. Their dedication and persistence have helped keep important conversations alive within the community and demonstrate the value of sustained grassroots engagement.
One of the most encouraging observations from the day was how eager and receptive many people were to accept our leaflets. Compared with previous visits, there was a noticeable willingness among members of the public to stop, take the information, and engage in conversation. Whether people agreed with every point or simply wanted to learn more, many appreciated the opportunity to receive material they could read and consider in their own time.
For our volunteers, it was a reminder that meaningful change often happens one conversation, one leaflet, and one person at a time. We would like to thank everyone in Ballina who took the time to speak with us, accepted a leaflet, or shared their thoughts. We also extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated Mayo volunteers, whose continued commitment over the past three years has made this outreach possible.
