Dozens of people gathered outside the Child and Family Agency Tusla’s Head Office in the Dublin Docklands to publicly read and hand-deliver their letter of grave concern. The letter outlined several of the agency’s recent and deeply troubling failings, including the rape of a 10-year-old currently in its care, the death of a 17-year-old on one of its premises, and the ongoing saga of missing files relating to the dozens of children who have disappeared in recent years while under Tusla’s responsibility.

Edel interviews Nicola Fox outside the Family Courts in Dublin
Still in his school uniform, Nicola’s son Harry was brutally taken from her arms, and brought straight to Dublin airport. Nicola speaks outside Leinster house
Nicola is an Irish mother fighting a deep emotionally charged legal battle to reunite with her son, Harry, who remains in the United Kingdom despite her efforts to bring him home. Her case has come to symbolize, the struggle faced when navigating engagements with the Irish State.
Drawing on her experience, Nicola has become an outspoken campaigner calling attention to what are obviously serious flaws within the Irish Family Courts system. She has repeatedly highlighted the lack of transparency, the difficulty ordinary parents face in being heard, and the devastating impact these processes have on families. Central to her advocacy is the issue of parental alienation, which she believes is too often overlooked or minimized, leaving parents and children vulnerable to long-term emotional harm.
Through public speaking, media engagement, and community support networks, Nicola has emerged as a determined and compelling voice for reform. To supporters, she represents not only a mother fighting for her child, but also a courageous advocate challenging a system she feels has failed to protect families like hers. Her story continues to galvanize conversations about accountability, fairness, and the urgent need for change within family-law structures in Ireland.
