On October 30th, a small but determined protest took place outside the headquarters of the Child and Family Agency, Tusla, in Dublin City. The demonstration was held in response to the horrific rape of a 10-year-old child who is currently under Tusla’s care.
It has since been confirmed that the rape occurred at the Citywest Asylum Centre in South Dublin, and was allegedly carried out by a failed African asylum seeker who remained in Ireland despite being served deportation orders.
Protesters gathered to demand accountability, highlighting the ongoing and systemic failures within Tusla — failures that continue to place Ireland’s most vulnerable children at risk.
