The writers’ strike in the U.S. is over, and Hollywood is back in action, But what exactly are they bringing back with them, With the picket lines down and the cameras rolling again, Hollywood wasted no time flooding our screens with new releases like Wonka, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, The Marvels, and The Creator. But what if we told you that many of those blockbuster films quietly slipped artificial intelligence and war propaganda into their production pipelines? AI isn’t just the plot device (like Terminator or I-Robot) anymore, it’s becoming the co-Creator.
As we dive into new media platforms and beyond (metaverse), we’re starting to see a subtle, and sometimes not-so-subtle, wave of pro-AI messaging creeping into BIG and small studio films.
Studios like Disney ae leading the charge. Whether it’s through AI-generated characters, scripts polished by machine learning, or entire sequences crafted with minimal human input, the future of filmmaking… the future of everything is shifting fast.
But here’s the big question:
Should we be excited about this new frontier of innovation, or is this just the beginning of a cinematic and social dystopia? Is AI helping to tell better stories, or is it quietly replacing the storytellers themselves?
So today, we’re unpacking the real message behind some of your favourite films, and asking the question no one in the industry, media or politic wants to think about let alone answer:
Are we watching entertainment… or AI generated Propaganda, is that what you are paying licence fees, Tax incentives, government grants, Esb, Eir/Virgin Media/BSkyB, Netflix, AmazonTv, AppleTv, YoutubeTv, Hulu, Disney + and… The list is endless. All money out of the Peoples pockets and funnelled to the oligarch of the modern “Town Square”.

A Brief History of Propaganda:
Ancient & Religious Roots
- The term comes from the Latin propagare, meaning “to spread.”
- The Catholic Church institutionalized it in the 17th century with the Congregatio de Propaganda Fide (Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith), aiming to spread Catholicism.
World Wars Era
- WWI & WWII saw the rise of state-sponsored propaganda at an unprecedented scale. Posters, films, and radio were used to stir patriotism, demonize enemies, and control narratives.
- Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia were notorious for their sophisticated, manipulative propaganda machines.
Cold War to Digital Age
- The Cold War saw the use of propaganda in ideological battles between capitalism and communism.
- With the rise of TV, radio, and later the internet, mass media became a critical propaganda tool.
- In the 21st century, social media and algorithms have added new layers to how propaganda spreads, often blurring the lines between fact and fiction.
Propaganda in Ireland Today:
Ireland is allegedly a democratic country with a relatively free press, but propaganda still exists, often more subtly than in authoritarian regimes.
Political Propaganda
- During referendums (e.g., same-sex marriage in 2015, abortion rights in 2018), both sides used emotionally charged messaging, selective facts, and strategic framing to sway public opinion.
- Parties and advocacy groups often use social media campaigns, targeted ads, and influencers to shape narratives.
- Recently, debates around immigration and asylum seekers have seen misinformation and propaganda tactics in Main Stream Media, online and in AstroTurf Protests sponsored by NGOs and “Non-Profits”.
Media & Corporate Influence
- Irish media is generally independent (as long as WakeUpeiRe.com is live I must testified to that), Unfortunately, large media conglomerates such as Bauer Media Group and Reach PLC dominate much of the Irish media landscape. Bauer Media Group owns several major Irish radio stations, including Newstalk, Today FM, 98FM, and SPIN. Reach PLC, a UK-based media group, owns news brands such as the Daily Mirror and Cork Beo—a digital news outlet focused on Cork city and county. These media groups are sometimes obviously engaged in bias and selective coverage, raising concerns about media plurality and editorial independence.
- PR agencies like Lisa Richards Agency and lobbyists use “soft propaganda” through advertorials, influencer partnerships, and astroturfing (fake grassroots campaigns).
Foreign Influence
- Ireland, like other EU countries, has been targeted by foreign disinformation campaigns, especially from USA and/or far far far-left networks. These often aim to stir division around Sports, Fashion, Finance, Inflation, Immigration, EU policies, National politics and public health.
- The EU loves how easy it is to pump propaganda into Ireland, an “open” info space and sky-high social media use mean they already know what you had for breakfast. What they don’t love? Free thinking. That’s why they’re rolling out speech laws. The powers that shouldn’t be don’t just want you quiet, they want you caged. All in the name of the billionaires’ “greater good.”
Digital & AI-Driven Propaganda:
- The use of bots, fake accounts, and AI-generated content is increasing, especially around far reaching and polarizing issues like climate policy, LGBTQ+ child educations, and public protests to name but a few.
- AI can now generate fake news articles, videos (deepfakes), and fake social proof, making it harder for the average person to detect what’s real. just look at Covid as an example. For over one hundred years the medical industry knew that face covering do not offer any protection, but can have sociological effects and negative effects on overall health, also since the 1900 society knew that mass
VaccinationInjections programs would actually make society as a whole much, much, much sicker, all old new but you wouldn’t know that if (like most mear mortals) Corona was your first Scamdemic.
Propaganda today isn’t just about posters and political ads, it’s about controlling the narrative in a world overflowing with information. In Ireland, as in many democracies, propaganda doesn’t necessarily just come from the national government. It can come from:
- Political parties
- Media Groups
- NGOs
- Corporations
- Activist groups
- Even individuals with large social media followings can be knowingly and/or unknowingly co-opted.
How to Stay Informed:
To guard against propaganda in Ireland or anywhere:
- Cross-check sources
- Question emotional appeals
- Look for full context
- Visit WakeUpeiRe.com for a broader view than RTÉ, The Journal, NewsTalk or CorkBeo are willing to share
- Be sceptical of content especially content that tells you exactly what you want to hear.
Websites such as TheJournal.ie’s FactCheck, Full Fact, and EUvsDisinfo are empowered to “counter” what they define as “misinformation.” However, it is important to recognize that these platforms are not immune to bias or critique. They often operate within and are funded by the very systems, institutions and societies that benefit from prevailing narratives, sometimes the same narratives that leave the public misinformed or underinformed, thus disenfranchised.
Consider this: what garners more attention/Money, a viewpoint everyone agrees on, or one that provokes drama and controversy?
The line between fact-checking and narrative management can be thinner than we like to admit in fact I propose that propaganda, fact-checking and narrative management are all the same thing named differently for different generations.
At WakeUpeiRe.com, we openly acknowledge our biases; our unwavering commitment is to Truth and the Freedom and Sovereignty of the People of éiRe. We will not yield to intimidation or coercion from institutions based at home or abroad. When confronted, we reserve the right to respond with equal or greater resolve. As is the Irish way.
When State sponsored/Licenced broadcasters/Media claim that an imported individual has been humiliated or harmed, we urge the public to critically examine who is telling you and what they are selling you. in reality, the same “authority” may appear at your door under the guise of official authority, employing the threat of force, fee and/or imprison to extract further resources from you in order to maintain a social infrastructure from which you are, in practice, excluded from. Only in theory are you Sovereign, the theory is, You Obey and Comply.
We argue that the post-Celtic Tiger policy of prioritizing the importation of more souls, despite widespread suicides, homelessness, underemployment, record-high unemployment, exploitative Community Employment (CE) schemes and Intro digitally monetized re-education opportunity’s, is, in effect, one of the most racially and socially damaging decisions made in recent history, only par too Mao Zedongs Great Leap Forword.
These schemes, which force qualified individuals into roles that once served as part-time or entry-level work for young people, exemplify a systemic failure and institutional distain that displaces both dignity and opportunity among the People of éiRe and our international guests. This is all only possible because the Propaganda machine has never been slowed down, let alone confronted. Now with computers doing the thinking… please Don’t Be FOOLED By AI Propaganda.
