We remembered this little number from Trevor Moore that we think you should be aware of. We think he raised real concerns — using humor to spotlight things many people would rather we ignore, WE will not ignore, we will NOT be silenced and today we celebrate.
Jorge Mario Bergoglio; 17 December 1936 – ??? 2025) (AKA Pope Francis), who’s been in office since 2013. He’s known for his humble style, progressive stances on some social issues, and efforts to reform the Catholic Church.
But like any major global figure, he’s not without criticism. If you’re looking for “evil” look no further than Vatican City and its “Holy Sea”.
Criticisms of Pope Francis:
- Handling of Abuse Cases:
Some say he’s not done enough to root out sexual abuse in the Church or punish bishops who covered it up, despite promising reforms. - Doctrinal Confusion:
Conservatives within the Church argue he causes theological confusion — like being too ambiguous about same-sex unions, divorce/remarriage, or interfaith dialogue. - Political Involvement:
Critics claim he’s too political — speaking out on capitalism, climate change, and migration in ways that some feel cross a line into activism. - Relationship with Traditionalists:
He’s been seen as marginalizing the more traditional Latin Mass community, which has caused tension in the Church. - Vatican Financial Scandals:
Though not directly tied to wrongdoing, some argue he hasn’t gone far enough in cleaning up corruption in the Vatican’s finances.
Is he “evil”?
That depends on worldview, faith background, and political leaning. To supporters, he’s a breath of fresh air. Goes to show how far from reasonable.
To critics, especially more traditional Catholics, he might represent a dangerous shift or even heresy. there are well-documented periods of intense corruption within the papacy. From the selling of indulgences in the Middle Ages to the Borgia popes (like Pope Alexander VI, infamous for nepotism and immorality), History is filled with problematic Papal chapters.
Most resent decades involve Sexual Abuse and systemic cover-ups have plagued the Catholic Church worldwide. Pope Francis has spoken out and taken some steps, but his reforms have been too slow and superficial not to mention to late.
“Pope once had a mistress?!” — That’s actually true in several cases. Some popes fathered children. Simpler times.
The Vatican itself holds immense wealth — in art, real estate, and investments. We the People often point out the contrast between Christ’s message of poverty and the Church’s opulence. Pope Francis himself has tried to live modestly, but the broader institution is still wealthy AF.
“Jesus flipped tables in the temple, the Pope blesses gold-plated chalices and is the head of an organisation that invests in war and rapes the young.”
Then we have the doctrine of Papal Infallibility (declared in 1870) doesn’t mean the Pope is always right, but that he is infallible only when declaring doctrine ex cathedra on matters of faith and morals. but it’s based on a real belief that gives the pope serious global political clout.
Sinéad O’Connor on ripping up Pope photo in 1992 SNL performance
Sinéad O’Connor’s 1992 “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) performance, during which she tore up a photo of Pope John Paul II, remains one of the most controversial moments in television history. O’Connor later explained that the act was a protest against child sexual abuse within the Catholic Church, a cause deeply personal to her due to her own experiences in Ireland’s Magdalene laundries.
It might not be the same physical man it is still the same men and women how control everything you see and hear on Mainstream Media.
If any body can dispute anything discussed in the videos above, we’d love to hear from you in the comments below. What your personal spiritual belief are, are between you and the all mighty but this corporate franchise model of religion of centralised power that we the People should NOT empower a single second longer.
