On October 4th the CSO released an unusual publication. Its findings give the official seal of approval to the quality of the real-time data produced by the Irish death notices website RIP.ie. It is also a shot in the arm to the small cottage industry of people producing excess death analysis and content over the last 12 months in Ireland.
