In a two-hour interview with Tucker Carlson in Moscow on February 6, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin complained about a lack of sharp questions from the former Fox News host.

Putin said he would prefer a Joe Biden presidency to Donald Trump and mocked Carlson for a “lack of sharp questions”. Putin also told Carlson that ending Moscow’s almost two-year-old invasion of Ukraine is “simple”. The interview was later aired on Carlson’s website, one of Russia’s main State television channels, and the Kremlin Web site.

Putin insisted that Russia had no interest in invading Poland, Latvia, or “anywhere else”, but Michael McFaul, former US ambassador to Russia, pointed out that Putin had said the same thing about Crimea in 2008
